Anti-Bedsore Systems for Intensive Care and Palliative Units

The Emerald Charitable Foundation has donated eight modern anti-bedsore systems to Odesa City Children’s Hospital No. 3.

Anti-decubitus mattresses with a static mode function help keep a child’s body in the correct position, simulate natural micro-movements, and stimulate blood circulation. This reduces the risk of complications and allows medical staff to perform procedures and feeding without the need to move young patients.

According to Kostiantyn Parkaiev, Head of the Intensive Care Unit, the new equipment will greatly ease the work of doctors and nurses while providing greater comfort for children.

The procurement and delivery of the systems were made possible thanks to the support of the foundation’s partners — the “Master of Color and Body” (MCIK) team.

This is already the second package of assistance for this facility. Previously, the Foundation donated a Bair Hugger warming unit and a set of thermal mattresses and blankets for the intensive care unit.
