Anti-Decubitus Systems for the Intensive Care and Palliative Care Departments

The Emerald Charitable Foundation donated eight modern anti-decubitus systems to Odesa Children’s City Hospital No. 3.

Anti-decubitus mattresses with a static mode help maintain a child’s body in the correct position, imitate natural micromovements and stimulate blood circulation. This reduces the risk of complications and allows medical staff to perform procedures and feed young patients without having to move them.

According to Kostiantyn Parkaiev, Head of the Intensive Care Department, the new equipment will significantly ease the work of doctors and nurses and provide greater comfort for children.

The purchase and delivery of the systems were made possible thanks to the support of the Foundation’s partners — the team of the Colour and Body Workshop (MCIK).

This is the second package of assistance provided to this hospital. Previously, the Foundation donated a Bair Hugger warming unit and a set of thermal mattresses and blankets for the Intensive Care Department.
